Dan comes from a ski background having skied for over 30 years all over the world. His ski travels have taken him to some of the best areas in Europe, Canada, The States and New Zealand and he relishes the challenge of skiing steep, deep and technical terrain mostly accessed by skins or lung busting hikes. Dan’s favourite ski areas include Kicking Horse in Canada, Ste Foy in France and Treble Cone in NZ. He has a passion for discovering small ski areas with few lifts, fewer people but heaps of demanding, untracked terrain. Before joining First Ascent, Dan spent the previous 15 years working in ski towns around the world as well as in the UK. The work included fitting ski boots, ski teching, managing ski/ climbing stores and occasionally living the ski bum dream. He is currently passing his skiing passion on to his 16 month old daughter (whether she tantrums or not). When not skiing, Dan surfs on a regular basis- something that he has combined with world travel and also develops his climbing skills on crags in the West Country where he lives.
