In going against the traditional grain of British climbing, I have focused mainly on the European style of sport climbing, bouldering and competition climbing. I believe I am one of Britain’s most experienced international climbing competitors, having made over 20 international appearances for Great Britain. My best results include 6th place in the European Youth Cup in 2001, a recent joint 1st place in an Invitational International in Iran in 2004 and 2nd places in the Nationals.

In addition to my achievements in competition I am also proud of some of my performances on rock. In my second year of climbing I red-pointed 8a and in 2002 returned to Britain from my first 4 month European tour with over 15 routes of 8a and above onsighted, having only previously redpointed the grade! On the bouldering front I have flashed Fb. 7c and redpointed Fb. 8a. My favorite boulder problems include the classic William Tell at Billicher, Switzerland. I have also made first ascents of boulder problems and routes in Switzerland and earlier this year did the first ascent of Autokolotis, an 8a+/b route in Chatzouri, Greece.

Until recently I climbed full time, spending most of my climbing time abroad exploring the sport climbing, bouldering and consistently good weather that Europe and the rest of the world has to offer while competing in the World Cup circuit! Recently, however, I have settled in London to study a Marketing and Advertising degree at the London Institute and to focus on training and the competition circuit. I am a regular contributor to the UK climbing press and also personally train and coach individuals and groups with recent clients including the Royal Navy and the Army.

I have been a Black Diamond sponsored climber for nearly two years now and am continually impressed with the high quality and innovative gear that Black Diamond produce. My favorite pieces include Neutrino quickdraws as they are so light you feel like you are not actually carrying any gear up a route and the cinch rope bag, such a simple design, yet so unbelievably practical and quick to use.
