FIRST ASCENT TO SPONSOR ALPINE CLUB
First Ascent, the Matlock based specialist outdoor equipment distributor and agency, are proud to announce that have entered into a long term partnership with The Alpine Club, the oldest and most prestigious mountaineering club in the World.
Specifically this support will focus on the development of a ‘Climbing Fund’ to be used by the Alpine Club and its members to promote and encourage Alpine style climbing both within Europe and overseas.
Chris Watts, the owner and MD of First Ascent and an AC member since 1986, talking about the partnership said, “For me Alpine climbing is the most inspiring and committing aspect of the sport and has always shaped the development of First Ascent as implied in our name. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to ensure that future generations of climbers are encouraged to follow in the style and footsteps of some of the greatest mountaineers of history who were and are members of The Alpine Club.”
